Your Spider Plant is not just a plant; it's a resilient, versatile, and beautiful addition to your workspace, office or home and we are thrilled to welcome you to our green community. Please embrace this lovely plant, shower it with love, and provide it with the natural light it craves and don't forget to share your plant's journey with us by tagging us in photos here.

We adore seeing our little plants thrive in their new homes!

Each Spider Plant you receive was lovingly grown and potted just days ago by Samantha, our Founder, and her granddaughter, Molly, age 9. We believe that, just like your 'Spidey,' everything flourishes with love—people included. So, remember, love is the fertiliser, and nurturing care is the secret to a thriving plant.

Here's how to take care of your new baby plant and how you can become a confident and loving plant parent.

Spider plants (Chlorophytum comosum) are popular houseplants known for their attractive appearance and ease of care and they offer several health and wellbeing benefits when placed in homes, offices, or workspaces.

Improved Air Quality

Spider plants are excellent air purifiers. They help remove common indoor pollutants such as formaldehyde and xylene, which can be found in carpets, paints, and furniture. Having spider plants in your indoor environment can help you breathe cleaner air.

Increased Oxygen Production

Like all green plants, spider plants undergo photosynthesis, a process that involves absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. Having more plants in your indoor space can increase oxygen levels, making the air fresher and more invigorating.

Stress Reduction

Studies have shown that the presence of indoor plants, including spider plants, can help reduce stress and improve mood. Their green foliage and natural beauty have a calming effect and can create a more pleasant and relaxing atmosphere in your home, office or workspace.

Humidity Regulation

Spider plants release moisture through a process called transpiration. This can help increase the humidity level in a room, which is beneficial for respiratory health, especially in dry indoor environments or during the winter months.

Enhanced Concentration and Productivity

Some research suggests that indoor plants, including spider plants, can enhance concentration and productivity. They provide a visually stimulating environment that can help reduce mental fatigue and boost creativity.

Aesthetically Pleasing

Spider plants are aesthetically pleasing with their long, arching leaves and variegated patterns. They can add a touch of nature and beauty to your indoor space, making it more inviting and visually appealing.

Easy to Care For

Spider plants are low-maintenance and resilient, making them a great choice for beginners. They tolerate a variety of light conditions and can thrive with minimal attention, which can reduce the stress associated with plant care.

Mental Wellbeing

Caring for indoor plants, such as spider plants, can provide a sense of accomplishment and purpose. The act of nurturing a living thing can have positive effects on mental wellbeing and reduce feelings of loneliness or depression.

Caring for Your Spider Plant: A Labor of Love

Nurturing your Spidie is a rewarding journey. To ensure its well-being and vibrancy, here are some key steps to follow: place your Spidie in indirect sunlight, as they are adaptable and can thrive in various light conditions. Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged, watering when the top inch of soil feels dry. Maintain typical room temperatures to avoid extreme fluctuations that can stress your Spidie. Spidies can handle standard indoor humidity levels, but for an extra boost, you can occasionally mist the leaves or place a tray of water nearby. Don't forget to feed your Spidie every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring to summer) to provide essential nutrients for its growth.

Nurturing Spider Plant Babies: A Lesson in Growth

One of the joys of having a Spidie is the possibility of it producing "babies" known as offsets or plantlets. Here's how you can nurture these new additions to your Spidie family: patiently wait for the baby Spidies to grow from long stems with small plantlets. Once they reach a height of a few inches, you can consider separating them from the parent plant. To do this, use a small pot with well-draining soil, and carefully separate the baby Spidie and its roots from the parent plant, transplanting it into the new pot. Provide the same love and care to the baby Spidie as you would its parent, following the care instructions mentioned earlier.

Remember, your love and care are the secret ingredients to a thriving Spidie plant, whether it's the parent or the baby, everything grows with love so treat it well and it will be a happy houseplant!

Good luck!
